Teacher Scholastic

This time around I visited http://www.teacher.scholastic.com a website useful for teachers of all levels of experience. Lesson planning, room decorating, tips and other very helpful ideas for those times of year we have no clue on what to do.

Not only is this website for teachers but also for administrators, parents, kids, and also librarians. In this website you can find information in all levels Pre-k to 12 and home resources.

This website also offers expert advice and also you can register for monthly Teacher Newsletter Updates. Also, it provides ideas of how to communicate both with students and parents.

I personally think this is a very useful website and I know that
I will use it for when I'm in my classroom setting. I hope to learn how to implement this information and activities not only in my classroom but as well with the parents.

In the school as my community I want to...

  • be involved
  • be organized
  • understanding
  • and most of all patient

Enter the Educational World

This time around I visited www.education-world.com/ a very interesting and educational website. I love it because it links to other helpful websites. Like for example how to plan lessons and to get the children involved not only academically but in a fine arts-crafty way. Children should be teached not only to educate but to have fun as well. I believe that is the best way children can learn more from the lesson.

Another link that I found just so fabulous, is the one to all teachers. If you already don’t have one or weren’t aware of it , you can design your own School Notes account and post important information. This is just a great idea because now the parents can get more involved. Haven’t you tried asking your children about what they have for homework, or how their day went. Well this is not only useful for you or the children but also the parents. If getting the parents involved one of your priorities well with this you are sure to have them involved.

In conclusion, this website is not only helpful for teachers but for administrators as well. It is full of tips and information that is for sure a great deal to know.

I would also like to know more on:

  • how to become a good role model

  • having more knowledge of students concerns

  • how to know how to react in different situations

How to Get Complimentary Teaching Materials

I visited http://www.Numbered Listedutopia.org/free-school-supplies-fundraising-donation an edutopia website and found it very interesting and most off all useful. Now that everyone's facing the same financial difficulties, this page can be very useful especially to educators and parents.

Just like the title says, "how to get complimentary teaching materials" this article does just, it gives helpful tips and names of organizations one can turn to in need of buying or getting school supplies.

One of the organizations i ranned into while reading this article was FREECYCLE, in which members only log on and donate their old belongings and not selling them. I thought this was such a neat idea and decided to join myself. Now I have just replied to an ad that is giving out free school supplies isn't that awesome.

Also, I really liked the idea of helping others and not only receiving, and thus for that I plan on having TSTA/PREPA adopt a school here in the valley.

Now that times are hard and we all need a little hand, I hope to learn more about non-profit organizations that help out the community. And then hopefully with their guidance I will help make a difference too.

Other topics of interest would be:

  • integrating technology in class
  • childrens interests
  • becoming involved
  • and getting parents more involved as well
